Small tattoo in Prague
A small piece starts at 2,500 Kč, fits within about 5×5 cm and takes around an hour. For many people it is also the first tattoo, so this page is as much about what I will talk you out of as about what I will do.
I give a small piece the same care as a large one. The smaller the piece, the less room there is for error: every millimetre of spacing decides whether the drawing is still readable in ten years.

How small is too small
A line laid in living skin widens slightly over the years. That single fact sets every minimum below.
A fine line motif lives from about 3–4 cm. A realistic fragment needs 6–8 cm. Lettering is the strictest of all: letters need air between them, and text set too small closes up into a dark bar long before the rest of the piece ages.
If a motif does not survive at the size you want, I will say so. Usually the answer is a simpler motif at that size, not the same motif shrunk.
Where a small piece holds
Forearm, upper arm, shoulder, collarbone, calf: skin that moves predictably and gets reasonable protection from the sun. A small piece there keeps its shape for years.
Fingers, the sides of hands, feet and the inner wrist are the fastest to blur. Skin there renews quickly and rubs constantly. I usually suggest a different place rather than promise a result I cannot hold.
One more thing worth deciding before, not after: where a small piece sits decides what you can add later. Scattered small pieces across a forearm can make a single larger composition impossible. If a sleeve is somewhere in your plans, say so now and we will place the first piece accordingly.

At this tier the work is a simple motif or a design you already have. A full custom design, drawn from scratch for you, is included from the medium tier.
There is a third route: the flash sheet. Those are motifs I have drawn once and will tattoo once, so the piece stays unique without the design time behind it.

About 3–4 cm for a simple linear motif. Smaller than that the lines have nowhere to sit and will close up over the years. For a realistic fragment the floor is higher, around 6–8 cm.
Often yes, and for a good reason: you find out how your skin takes it and how you feel during a session. The one thing to think about first is placement, so that a small start does not stand in the way of something bigger later.
